H. Farm students returned to school after half term break this Wednesday to the new and horrifying reality of war between Ukraine and Russia, something we had hoped never to see in our or our children lifetimes ever again.
Jane Andrews, Head of PYP working with Mr Mariutto & Mr Iacco in MYP began an initiative to collect donations from the H.Farm families to send out to the various drop-off centres where deliveries of much needed essential items would make their way to Ukraine and neighbouring Poland to support the refugees.
In three short days the donations flowed in steadily and the support from everyone was overwhelming.
Logistically all the donations needed to get to the centres on Friday evening. With help from a great team of parents volunteering effectively coordinated by Natalie (PTA’s “Service as Action-CAS committee leader) all the donations were delivered swiftly with seven cars filled to the brim with food, toiletries, blankets and warm clothes.
A real team effort by the school, students, families and PTA pulling together.
